What we do

Cross-cutting all three tracks, is the coalition’s flagship initiative, Creative Housing Actions, or CHA. Engagements under CHA are developed and delivered by coalition members and their local partners, to assist governments at the national, state and municipal levels, as well as central banks; in identifying practical, creative policy solutions to their housing and economic challenges.

The initiative addresses routine shortcoming of housing subsidies and stimulus programs being generally targeted to the formal part of housing markets that typically functions well, at the expense of the underserved populations in the informal housing segment. CHA finds context-relevant solutions for “expanding the frontier” to informal workers and low-income families.
