Argentina: Procrear expands access to multiple kinds of credit

WHFC

With the aim to increase and improve the conditions of access to housing finance, Procrear is a federal housing development policy in Argentina that ran from 2012 to 2018, and was relaunched in 2020. Procrear Argentina has the guarantee of the Ministry of Territorial Development and Habitat, so that as credit lines are launched, the population can access it in a simple way. In its first launch from 2012 to 2018, products offered include subsidies for spare parts, sustainable improvements, personal lines of credit, and gas improvements.

When it was relaunched in 2020, Procrear was divided into two types of credit lines: personal credit lines for home improvements and mortgage credit lines. Practices implemented in this program to make it more effective include interest rate subsidies, communication and dissemination strategies, post-subsidy monitoring, and access to technical support.
